The project „Cultural Heritage, Small Business Development and Tourism for Town Twinning”

The project „Cultural Heritage, Small Business Development and Tourism for Town Twinning” is supported in the frames of Europe for Citizens Programme – Networks of twinned towns and provides support for cooperation activities between Daugavpils district municipality (Latvia), Zarasai municipality (Lithuania), Rokiskis municipality (Lithuania), Lomza municipality (Poland) Bad Doberan municipality (Germany) and San’t Angelo in Vado municipality (Italy).

The aim of proposed multicultural town is to contribute to intercultural dialogue in Europe, to learn from history and build for future.
Project which intends to create a network if local municipalities, cultural organizations, small businesses and tourism centers willing to share experiences and different aspects of developing cultural heritage preservation, small rural business development and adding value to tourism products.

The intension is to share good and bad practices, case studies on an open discussion, involving all actors interested in developing the local community by promoting cultural heritage and small business as well as tourism.

The cooperation will be based on three main themes – cultural heritage, small business development and adding value to local products which give citizens the opportunity to share their experiences, bring Europe closer to people as they will have opportunity to meet different cultures and speak different languages.

Events proposed in the project:
1. Cultural heritage “Augsdaugava” (conference, festival)
2. Small business development (Daugavpils District Days, fair)
3. Adding value to tourism products (Seminar, study tour)
